Will SpinupWP make changes to my server without my direction?

SpinupWP will almost never make changes to the config files on your server on its own without you explicitly telling it to. Only when you take action in the dashboard (e.g. hit an Upgrade button) will it make changes to your config files.

This is by design, so that you can schedule a time that’s convenient for you to perform upgrades, test your sites, and deal with any issues that arise.

Only in extremely rare cases will SpinupWP modify config files without you telling it to. For example, if there’s a problem we discover that needs addressing immediately to keep your servers and sites running. In those rare cases we will take action and email you about it right away.

This is not to be confused with security updates. When your server was first set up, SpinupWP configured it to automatically install security updates as they become available. So it’s the server itself that handles security updates, not SpinupWP.
